The West Coast is blessed with abundant seafood and succulent Cape crayfish (lobster) and no visit to our area should end without eating alfresco in one of our open air Sandveld restaurants. Here our superb seafood is complemented by other traditional South African dishes, such as meat braaied over hot coals, curried sosaties and boerewors. The area produces some delicious wines from the picturesque vineyards along the course of the Olifants river valley and also the mountains bordering it - a magnificent sight in autumn as the leaves turn russet and red. Two cellars closest to Clanwilliam, namely Cederberg and Citrusdal Cellars produces award winning wines from mountain vineyards and are well-worth a visit. See details below.
